Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge with gratitude that we are gathered on the unceded, traditional territory. I recognize the importance of respecting and honoring the First Peoples of this land, whose knowledge, traditions, and deep connection to the land have shaped this region for generations.
As an international teacher, I am committed to fostering an environment of learning that respects and reflects Indigenous perspectives, histories, and contributions.
My name is Keyi Ma, and I go by Kloe. I was born in China and came in Canada for 5 years for STEM program. I’m good at math and physics and I found my passion for teaching. So 5 years ago, my goal was to become a teacher. I’m developed as a secondary school teacher with a background in math and physics.

I finished my second practicum in Vancouver and third practicum in Chilliwack. St. Regis Secondary School in Vancouver is an independent school and GW Graham Secondary School is Chilliwack is a public school. I have worked with diverse groups of students and taught in classrooms of various sizes. Through these experiences, I have enriched my teaching skills and deepened my understanding of student needs and classroom dynamics.

As a cross-cultural teacher, I’m especially interested in making learning relevant and engaging by connecting curriculum to real-world issues including cultural and environmental contexts during my teaching practicums. I also have experience supporting students emotionally and academically, especially those going through personal challenges. I gained a lot from my teacher mentors, they helped me improve clear communication, thoughtful planning, and creating a classroom environment where all students feel seen and supported.
